Short movie review : CONTENG

This is a short story movie that was posted on YouTube in conjunction to Muslim celebration, Hari raya . The short movie is called CONTENG by PKRNs official YouTube channel. Although the movie follows the same old sad background story on happy celebration day kind of tradition . Surprisingly, I don't mind it . Honestly, the storyline is well made . 

It start of by giving us the backstory of our main character , Wan , who has passion in art and drawing . However , his dad thinks that drawing won't make him succeed in life thus they got into an argument and resulting in Wan running away from home . After running from home , Wan did make a living out of his drawing and in a turn of event his brother found him . That set off some emotion in Wan heart to finally return home . I really like the scene where Wan reunited with his parents , especially his dad . In the end , we found out that his dad has been looking for Wan year through year . This shows no matter how cruel or harsh they may be , your parents will always love you from the bottom of their heart . This scene almost made me tear up but since there are people around , I hold it in . 

The movie is casted with local actors, some are recognizable and some are new to me . Overall the acting was pretty amazing , the emotion that each actor convey really touched your heart . Although all actor has play an amazing performance in acting out as their role , I got to give the MVP to Jalil Hamid for his acting as the dad . Honestly you can call me bias but I really like his acting . Even though he appears at the end of the short movie , his acting really leave a impact in your memory 

Overall , a good short movie . Really show how the local production have evolved through out the years . I will probably watch it again with my family or alone , just to live the emotion again . I really recommend this short movie for anyone who likes some tear jerky story or anyone in general . Definitely go check this short movie out on YouTube
